Minnesota Wedding Floral Inspiration

Two Beautifully Different Styles at
White & Sable Ceremonies
with one of our preferred florists,
Pristine Floral

Wedding flowers have a way of transforming a space, bringing color, texture, and personality to a wedding day. From soft, romantic arrangements to vibrant, garden-inspired bouquets, floral design can help shape a couple’s wedding vision.

At White & Sable, our black-and-white modern design creates a beautiful blank canvas for any style. The clean lines and neutral palette of our space allow florals to really shine, whether you envision soft, romantic blooms that complement the timeless space or bold, colorful arrangements that make a statement against a minimalist backdrop. Flowers are one of the best ways to add personality, color, and texture while making our space feel uniquely yours.

Now that we’re over 100 weddings into this business venture, one of the biggest, unexpected blessings so far has been the people we’ve met along the way. Getting to know talented vendors like Jamie of Pristine Floral has truly been such a gift. We love seeing her beautiful floral designs come to life at White & Sable, and we’re so grateful for the relationships we’ve built with people like her who have an obvious servant’s heart and care so much about making each couple’s day special. Jamie is an absolute joy to work with.

We’re excited to share two of our favorite Pristine Floral designs from weddings at White & Sable: Rebecca and Jesse’s soft, romantic florals and Emma and Ryan’s bold, colorful blooms. The styles couldn’t be more different, but we love how each one reflects the couple’s personality and brings something special to their day.

We also asked Jamie to share some of her thoughts on wedding florals, from choosing a style and working with seasonal blooms to making the most of your floral budget. If you’re starting to dream up your own wedding flowers, we hope these ideas help you find inspiration and figure out what feels most like you!

Soft and Romantic Wedding Flowers: Rebecca and Jesse

Rebecca and Jesse's July wedding featured a beautiful white cross (handmade by her parents, making it even more special) adorned with lush white and pale blush florals. Delicate roses, creamy blooms, and airy filler flowers created a romantic arrangement that complemented the clean lines of the cross and the surrounding greenery.

Down to every detail, Rebecca planned the entire wedding herself, and we love how the subtle color palette added softness and elegance to the outdoor ceremony space without overwhelming it. The combination of ivory, blush, and varied floral textures created a timeless look that felt both elevated and natural.

For couples dreaming of a romantic wedding, a neutral palette doesn't have to feel simple or understated. Mixing flower varieties, shapes, and textures can create a full, dimensional design while keeping the overall look soft and cohesive.

Florist Tip from Jamie at Pristine Floral

For a timeless, romantic palette of blush and white, I love combining lush, fragrant garden roses with seasonal favorites like our homegrown peonies and dahlias. Ranunculus, ruffled lisianthus, sweet peas, and delicate butterfly ranunculus bring beautiful movement, softness, and a touch of whimsy to each arrangement. When working with a neutral color palette, dimension comes from the variety of textures, shapes, and natural movement within the blooms. Pairing full, garden-inspired flowers with delicate, airy varieties creates depth and visual interest while keeping the overall look soft, elegant, and effortlessly romantic.

In Minnesota, seasonal blooms such as peonies in late spring and early summer, followed by dahlias in late summer and early fall, are especially beautiful for this style. Incorporating locally grown, seasonal flowers is a wonderful way to achieve a lush, garden-inspired look while celebrating the natural beauty of the season.

For couples looking to balance their floral vision with their budget, garden roses, lisianthus, and seasonal local blooms can offer beautiful versatility. Peonies, specialty ranunculus, and certain premium garden roses are lovely splurge-worthy choices that make a statement. I always recommend investing in a few standout blooms and complementing them with beautiful, textural flowers to create arrangements that feel abundant, thoughtfully designed, and truly special.

Colorful Wedding Flowers: Emma and Ryan

Emma and Ryan's floral choices for their September celebration show how much personality color can bring to a wedding space.

Emma’s bouquet featured vibrant shades of coral, peach, pink, orange, and yellow, with a lush mix of blooms that created a garden-inspired look full of movement and texture. Each flower added something different, yet the colors came together beautifully in one cohesive arrangement. Although Emma and Ryan celebrated in the same courtyard as Rebecca and Jesse, their colorful florals gave the space an entirely different feel, showing just how much a floral design can transform a setting.

Florist Tip: Working with Color

How do you help couples choose colors that work beautifully together? What flowers do you love for colorful, garden-inspired designs, and how can couples carry a bold palette throughout their wedding?

I love helping couples create a color palette that feels cohesive, romantic, and inspired by nature. We consider the season, venue, and overall vision to find colors that complement one another beautifully. For colorful, garden-inspired designs, I love dahlias, garden roses, ranunculus, sweet peas, and seasonal peonies for their beautiful textures and rich variety of colors. Carrying those colors throughout the bouquets, ceremony flowers, and reception creates a cohesive look that feels lush, organic, and effortlessly whimsical.

How to Choose Wedding Flowers That Fit Your Vision

One of the best parts of wedding floral design is that there isn't one right way to do it. Some couples gravitate toward classic whites and blushes, while others love bright colors, unexpected combinations, and an abundance of blooms.

As you begin planning your wedding flowers, consider the overall atmosphere you want to create. Do you envision something romantic and timeless, colorful and playful, or natural and garden-inspired? Your answers can help guide your color palette, flower choices, and floral installations.

Working with an experienced Minnesota wedding florist like Jamie can also help you understand seasonal flower availability, explore designs that complement your venue, and determine where your floral budget will have the greatest impact.

A few things to discuss with your florist:

  • Seasonality: Which flowers will be available around your wedding date, especially from Minnesota growers?

  • Color and texture: How can different blooms work together to create depth and movement?

  • Budget: Where will floral arrangements make the biggest visual impact?

  • Your venue: Which spaces or architectural details could be enhanced with flowers?

Jamie's Advice for Couples

My biggest tip is to come to your floral consultation with inspiration photos, but also an open mind. Trust your florist to guide you toward seasonal blooms and creative alternatives that fit your vision and budget. I also encourage couples to prioritize the floral moments that matter most to them. Understanding where to invest can make all the difference in creating a beautiful, cohesive wedding day that feels uniquely yours.
